IBR And Non IBR Boiler Frequently Asked Questions
IBR Boiler Supply And Installation In Bangalore
Fabco Engineers handles IBR boiler supply and installation for process plants, dairies, breweries, pharmaceutical units and textile processors across Bangalore and the wider South India region. We are not a boiler manufacturer. We source pressure equipment from established Indian boiler makers whose designs already carry statutory approval, and we take full responsibility for everything that happens after the equipment reaches your gate: foundation checks, setting, mountings, piping tie ins, statutory registration, commissioning and after sales support. Plant heads generally find this arrangement simpler, because one contractor owns the outcome instead of three.
Why Buy Supply And Installation As One Package
The most common problem we get called in to fix is a split scope. A plant buys a boiler directly from a manufacturer, appoints a local contractor for erection, and then discovers that the feed water line was sized for a different pump, or that the safety valve discharge was routed without regard to the platform above it. Nobody accepts responsibility, and the unit sits idle while the argument runs. Buying IBR boiler supply and installation as a single package removes that gap. We select the equipment against your actual steam demand, we install it, and if something does not perform, there is one number to call.
Boilers We Supply
Selection starts with your load pattern rather than a catalogue. We look at peak and average steam demand, working pressure, fuel availability and the space you have. Depending on that we supply and install:
- Smoke tube and package boilers for steady process loads from roughly 500 kg per hour upward
- Water tube boilers where higher pressure or superheated steam is required
- Biomass and solid fuel fired units for plants with reliable husk, briquette or wood chip supply
- Thermal fluid heaters where the process needs high temperature without high pressure
- Waste heat recovery boilers on DG sets and furnace exhaust
- Non IBR boilers and small steam generators for laboratories, canteens and light process duty
Non IBR units fall outside the Indian Boiler Regulations because of their capacity and working pressure, which shortens the approval route considerably. Where the duty genuinely suits a non IBR generator we will say so, since it saves you months of statutory work.
What Our Installation Scope Covers
A boiler installation is mostly the work around the boiler. Our erection teams handle foundation verification and levelling, equipment setting, fitting of mountings and accessories, feed water and blowdown systems, fuel feeding arrangements, chimney and flue ducting, steam header and distribution piping, insulation and cladding, and coordination with your electrical contractor for the panel and interlocks. We prepare erection drawings before mobilisation so that anchor bolt positions, pipe routes and platform clearances are agreed on paper rather than argued about on site.
Welding on pressure piping is carried out by welders qualified under IBR procedures, and joints are tested to the standard your inspecting authority expects. Fabco Engineers has been doing IBR boiler supply and installation work for more than three decades, and the reason repeat clients come back is usually the paperwork discipline rather than the welding alone.
Statutory Approval And IBR Registration
Any boiler above the threshold set by the Indian Boiler Regulations must be registered with the state Boiler Directorate before it can be operated. We coordinate the full sequence: submission of manufacturer drawings and Form III A, arrangement of inspection by the competent authority, hydraulic testing in the inspector’s presence, and issue of the certificate that lets you run legally. For plants in Karnataka we deal with the Directorate of Boilers routinely and know where applications tend to stall.
Commissioning And Handover
Commissioning is where shortcuts show up later as failures. We carry out hydraulic testing, refractory drying and boil out, safety valve floating and setting, trial firing across the load range, and a continuous run to confirm steady steam parameters. Your operators are trained on the actual unit, not on a manual, and we hand over drawings, test certificates, the IBR certificate, the manufacturer manual and a written maintenance schedule.
Service, Repair And Annual Maintenance
Boilers that are inspected on a schedule cost far less over their life than boilers that are attended only when they fail. Our maintenance contracts cover routine inspection, tube cleaning and replacement, refractory repair, mounting overhaul, safety valve servicing, and preparation for the annual statutory inspection. We also take on repair work for boilers we did not originally install, including retubing and pressure part replacement carried out under IBR supervision. Emergency support is available at all hours, because a stopped boiler usually means a stopped plant.
Industries And Areas We Serve
Our clients include dairies, food processing units, breweries and distilleries, pharmaceutical formulation plants, textile dyeing and processing houses, rubber and plastics manufacturers, hospitals and hotels. We work across Bangalore including Peenya, Bommasandra, Jigani, Attibele, Hoskote, Nelamangala, Bidadi and Dabaspet, and travel regularly to Hosur, Mysore, Tumkur and other industrial belts in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
How A Boiler Project Is Priced
Clients often ask why two quotes for the same capacity differ by a wide margin. The equipment itself is rarely the variable. What moves the number is the balance of plant: the length and grade of the steam header, whether a new chimney is needed or an existing one can be reused, the fuel handling arrangement, the extent of platforms and access structures, and how much civil work the foundation demands. Our proposals break these out line by line so you can see where money is going and decide what to defer. We do not carry hidden allowances for site conditions, because that habit produces disputes at the billing stage.
Documents You Receive On Completion
Every project closes with a handover file rather than a verbal assurance. It contains as built drawings, the boiler registration certificate and inspection reports, welder qualification records, hydraulic test certificates, material test certificates for pressure piping, the pressure part and mounting list with makes and model numbers, the commissioning report with recorded parameters, and an operation and maintenance schedule written for your shift staff. When your next statutory inspection comes around, or when an insurer asks questions, that file answers them.
Talk To Us Before You Order
The cheapest time to fix a boiler selection mistake is before the purchase order is raised. If you are planning a new utility block, replacing an ageing unit or adding capacity, call us for a site visit. We will look at your steam demand, your available space and your fuel situation, and give you a written proposal covering IBR boiler supply and installation with a clear scope, a firm price and a realistic schedule.
